After getting my first digital camera when I moved to the Yukon, my interest in photography quickly grew into a passion. Northern landscapes, wildlife and nature were inspiring.
Fast forward a few years with a diploma in digital photography and imaging, and now an award-winning photographer, I have decided to put my roots down in Muskoka, Ontario and focus on the success of my photography business, Cobi Photography.
The birth of my daughter, Severn Fawn, is the reason why I’m a Birth Photographer. The birthing process fascinates me, and to be able to capture a mother’s journey through labour to birth her babe, is an incredible happening to document.
I believe that my education and experience as a Professional Photographer speaks to the value that I hold as a professional. You can go and get a $10 hair cut, but that hair stylist has to have some sort of certification in order to run a business and cut your hair. There are no certifications necessary for a photographer to take pictures and run a business. I take photography – and my diploma in photography – very seriously. I am a skilled professional who has educational photography experience.
In my down time, you can find me canoeing deep into Ontario’s wild spaces, hiking, spending time in nature and caring for my 30+ collection of houseplants. See my blog, Waboose Adventures.
